Your Hosts - Colin & Renee Wells

Golf Vacations New Zealand is owned and operated by Colin and Renée Wells. Renée was born in New Zealand but spent most of her childhood and early adult life in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, where Colin was born and bred. Whilst in Guernsey Colin worked as a chartered accountant and Renée as a bilingual secretary. In 1986 they left Guernsey for a honeymoon in New Zealand. It did not take long to realise what a wonderful place New Zealand was and a place they wished to make home.

Soon after establishing themselves in New Zealand, they started an import/distribution business. After successfully growing the business over ten years they sold this business and started a new business specialising in a niche range of fencing and landscaping materials which branched out into providing entertainment facilities. This business was recognised with local business enterprise awards covering a range of categories including, amongst others, innovation and community contribution. This business was sold in 2007 since when they have occupied themselves with landscaping their 2½ acre property, travelling extensively, pursuing leisure activities, including golf, tramping, kayaking and fishing. Colin has also done a small amount of business consulting work.

At the age of 50, with two daughters shortly due to complete their university studies, they feel ready for a new challenge. They decided to incorporate their love of the outdoors, passion for New Zealand, fascination for golf, enjoyment of meeting with people and their organisational skills into creating Golf Vacations New Zealand Ltd.
