South Island – Christchurch to Queenstown – 9 days

Our Christchurch to Queenstown Golf tour has it all, experiencing many of New Zealand’s top and most spectacular golf courses and enjoying 5-star accommodation throughout your tour. The tour begins in Christchurch and ends in Queenstown, affording you the opportunity to stay on some extra days in the Queenstown region and choose from an array of activities, including walking the Milford Track, which has been described by many, including Rudyard Kipling, as the eighth wonder of the world. We can arrange activities, accommodation and travel as required, including flights within New Zealand. During this tour, you will travel a unique part of New Zealand, enjoying some spectacular scenery. Your golfing experience will be something to remember, playing a variety of top courses which have received many rave reviews and been described as stunning, dramatic, spectacular and a privilege to play on.

Day 1 – Christchurch

You will be met at your Christchurch arrival point and transported to Peppers Clearwater Christchurch golf course, a 5-star resort with its own 18-hole championship course. Should you arrive early enough we can arrange a round of golf at Clearwater or at one of Christchurch’s many golf courses. Alternatively, we can assist with recommendations for other activities. We will host an early evening welcome drinks in the Clearwater Sprig Bar so you can get to meet your fellow travellers.

Day 2 – Christchurch

This morning we have a short drive to the newly-created Pegasus Golf Course; a recent addition to the growing list of international standard golf courses in New Zealand, Pegasus is a parklands style course shaped by water features, trees and wetlands, and framed by views of the Port Hills, Mount Gray and the Pacific Coast. Pegasus recently hosted the New Zealand Women’s Open. For the non-golfers we can offer plenty of alternative activities and attractions all in close proximity. After our round of golf, we visit a local winery for a late lunch before returning to Clearwater for some relaxation.

Day 3 – Christchurch to Lake Tekapo, via Terrace Downs

We depart Clearwater in the morning and have about an hour’s drive to Terrace Downs, a breathtaking location which provides a spectacular setting for a stunning golf course. It offers views of the mountains all around as well as the river below. For those not playing golf, Terrace Downs offers a host of activities, including archery, clay bird shooting, fishing, tennis, and walking tracks. In the afternoon, we depart for picturesque Lake Tekapo. The drive takes us along a very scenic route with views of Australasia’s tallest mountain, Mt Cook. After settling into your 5-star accommodation and enjoying dinner, we invite you to join us (weather permitting) on a star-gazing night tour at an observatory internationally recognised for its beautiful surroundings, clear nights and being devoid of city light pollution. The region is hopeful of establishing a world heritage starlight reserve.

Day 4 – Lake Tekapo to Wanaka

We start the day with a short tour of the Lake Tekapo area, before moving “off the beaten track” to the original home of Golf Cross. Set on a 63,000 acre farm which affords spectacular alpine terrain and great views of Lake Pukaki, you get to sample this fun and innovative game using an oval golf ball! It is great fun and we are sure it will provide plenty to talk about! Non-golfers can give the game a go or simply enjoy the walk, taking in the surrounding vistas. We then drive a short way before stopping for lunch, after which we continue our journey to Wanaka where we stay the night.

Day 5 – Wanaka to Queenstown

Whilst not as large or as busy as Queenstown, Wanaka is a favourite with locals. It is an attractive town set around the shores of the lake. We play the well-maintained local course in the morning, where you can enjoy some great views. For the non-golfers there are plenty of alternatives, including walks, café-hopping, shopping or a bit of brain exercise at Puzzle World. We depart Wanaka in time for a winery lunch on our way to the 5-star Millbrook Resort in Queenstown, our base for the remainder of the tour.

Day 6 – Queenstown

Your Queenstown Golf Tour begins with the Millbrook Resort Queenstown Golf Course; the course is set in a natural alpine amphitheatre, against the backdrop of the Remarkable mountain range. Millbrook is close enough for easy access (complimentary transport) to Queenstown, but far enough away to enjoy the tranquillity and splendour of the alpine countryside. The accommodation consists of a range of cottages and villas. The resort has plenty to offer in terms of recreational facilities, award-winning spa, and restaurants.

Day 7 – Queenstown

An option day, with a huge number of choices. Options, amongst others, include a day trip to the beautiful Milford Sound, a wine tour of some of the great wineries the region has to offer; for the adrenalin junkies choose between skydiving, bungy jumping, jet boating, white water rafting and more. For a slightly less intense day, visit one of the region’s many health spas, take a cruise on the lake or try a spot of fishing. For the golf fanatics, should you show no signs of being “golfed out”, we have plenty of variety to offer at some stunning courses.

Day 8 – Queenstown

Today we play golf at Jack’s Point, a relatively new course which is simply spectacular; a course to savour and appreciate just how lucky we are to be in such an awesome setting. The course fully exploits the dramatic terrain, delivering world class golf. Tonight we host our farewell and presentation dinner, sharing fond memories and looking forward to meeting again.

Day 9 – Queenstown

We bid farewell and transport you to your point of departure.
